InnovAcciones 360
On April 23rd, I attended InnovAcciones 360°, an event to promote communication among the industry, researchers and consumers, organized by CSIC (the largest public research institution in Spain and the third in Europe). This first meeting was to discuss plastic packaging, its current role and what its future should be. Designed to encourage the exchange of ideas and debate, this workshop was the first of what the organization hopes will be a series of events with similar format, so I hope that my comments are used to improve the next InnovAcciones 360°
2011: Sales in the chemical industry
The 11th of April Solvay announced its intention to buy Rhodia for €3 billions. This is the last announcement in a long list of acquisitions in the chemical industry in a year that is breaking records. The number of acquisitions is motivated by a market recovering from the economic crisis and that has cash again after 3 years of strong readjustment measures
